David Bishop

Biography

David Bishop was born in 1757 and came of age just before the American Revolution, when families in the Hillcrest area of the young nation relied on mutual support to weather war and economic shift.

He died in 1833 and his resting place in Hillcrest Cemetery marks his service to a rural community that held the new republic's promise close at hand. Bishop's quiet diligence lives on in the memory of the fields and roads he traversed.
