David Hammons

Biography

David Hammons, born in 1808, spent eight decades nurturing the Woodland neighborhood with gentle leadership and an appreciation for the natural world that surrounded him. His calm presence and willingness to help others made him a pillar of stability when challenges arose.

He was laid to rest in Woodland Cemetery in 1888, where his memory lives on beneath the trees he once wandered, comforting loved ones and inspiring future caretakers of the land.
