Biography

David P. Bowers (1822–1857) lived during the turbulent decades preceding the Civil War, coming of age in a nation grappling with profound questions about its future. His life, though cut short at thirty-five years of age, was lived during a critical period in American history.

His remains were committed to The Woodlands, where he rests among other notable figures of his generation, his memory preserved in the historical record of his community.
