Civil rights activist
Biography
David Richmond took his place among the Greensboro Four, joining fellow students in the 1960 sit-ins that halted service at a Woolworth's lunch counter and sent ripples through the national civil rights movement.
He remained dedicated to the cause of desegregation throughout his life, encouraging younger activists and inspiring those who visit the Carolina Biblical Gardens of Guilford to remember the courage of that historic moment.
