David Stout Manners

Biography

David Stout Manners combined business sense with a sincere love of his adopted city, earning trust as a merchant and then as mayor of Jersey City, where his administration focused on improving streets, schools, and water service.

In retirement he kept working for the public good, supporting charitable causes and veterans' groups so that the progress of his era would endure, leaving a memory honored at Arlington Memorial Park.
