Biography

Delphine de Fontanges was a French woman whose life spanned nearly a century of French history. Born in 1790, she lived through the dramatic transformations of the Revolutionary and Napoleonic eras and into the modern nineteenth century.

De Fontanges' long life witnessed the evolution of French society across generations. She was laid to rest in the Cimetière des Carmes, where her memory is preserved. She passed away in 1879.
