Demas Colton

Biography

Demas Colton was born in 1767 and lived through the formative years of the United States as an independent nation. His long life of eighty-seven years spanned from the colonial period through the early industrial age.

Colton was laid to rest in Longmeadow Cemetery in 1854, his passing marking the end of an era. His life represented the continuity and resilience of those who helped establish the foundations of the new republic.
