Biography
Derrick Thomas (1965-2000) rose to prominence as a dominant linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs, where his electrifying pass rush and relentless effort made him one of the NFL's most feared defenders. A seven-time Pro Bowler and pillar of the Chiefs' defense from 1989 to 1999, he turned every snap into an opportunity to uplift teammates and to make opposing offenses uneasy.
Off the field, Derrick poured that same energy into helping children and families through his foundation, striving to create better educational and recreational opportunities across the Kansas City area. His leadership and generosity endure in the memories of fans and the work of those he inspired, and his grave at Caballero Rivero Dade South Cemetery is a place of quiet reflection for many.
