Dick Barrett brought a left handed calm to pitching staffs across major and minor league baseball, earning respect for his work ethic and for his ability to quiet opposing bats even on trying days.
After stepping away from the mound, he mentored young players and remained a proud figure in the baseball world, remembered with gratitude by those who visited him at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery.
