Dixie Haygood, born in 1860 in Georgia, captivated turn-of-the-century audiences as "Miss Dixie," the performer who bent steel and appeared to defy gravity in acts billed as demonstrations of magnetic force. Her performances combined the drama of theater with a touch of Southern grace, proving that women could headline major shows with wit and skill.

She toured widely, delighting crowds with a playful blend of strength and mystery, and after her passing in 1915 she was laid to rest at Memory Hill Cemetery, leaving behind a legacy that inspired future generations of female entertainers.
