Biography

Dmitry Baltermants was a renowned Soviet photojournalist whose powerful images documented significant events and subjects of the twentieth century. Born in 1912, he developed a distinguished career capturing visual narratives that reflected the complexity of Soviet life and history.

Baltermants' photojournalistic work earned him recognition for its artistic merit and documentary importance. His photographs provided compelling visual testimony to his era until his death in 1990. He was laid to rest at Vostryakovo Cemetery.
