Biography

Dmitry Obolensky (1822–1881) was a Russian writer who contributed to the literary culture of nineteenth-century Russia. As a member of the distinguished Obolensky family, he participated in the intellectual life of his era during a period of significant literary development and social change.

Obolensky's literary work reflected the concerns and artistic sensibilities of mid-nineteenth-century Russian society. He was interred in Tikhvin Cemetery, where his memory endures among the notable figures of Russian cultural history.
