Biography

Don Haskins became a legend in college basketball by leading the Texas Western Miners to the 1966 NCAA championship with a starting lineup that broke barriers and redefined the sport.

Over the course of his long coaching career at the University of Texas at El Paso, he remained devoted to his players’ personal growth, insisting on academic responsibility and always reminding them that character matters as much as the scoreboard.
