Biography

Dorothy L. Sayers wrote detective fiction that combined clever plotting with compassionate portraits of human weakness, winning her a lasting place among the great English authors. Lord Peter Wimsey, the gentleman sleuth she created, reflected her belief that justice should temper mercy and that intellect must be rooted in kindness.

She also translated Dante, lectured on theology, and engaged in radio broadcasts, always aiming to invite readers and listeners into thoughtful conversations about faith, society and moral responsibility.
