Biography

Doug Dillard was a pioneering bluegrass banjoist whose lightning-fast picking and inventive approach helped bring the instrument to new audiences. As a founding member of the Dillards and later through collaborations with folk and country luminaries, he expanded the reach of bluegrass while honoring its roots.

His generosity of spirit and playful musicianship left an indelible mark on generations of string players. Family, friends, and fans continue to celebrate his legacy at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, where his passion for music lives on in every plucked note.
