Biography
Douglas Walter Belcher answered the call to serve and spent years alongside comrades in the British Army, where his quiet courage and clear-headedness guided younger soldiers through dangerous postings. He remained attentive to the needs of those in his charge, even when confronted with the harshest trials of war.
After the fighting, he supported the communities that aided returning troops and kept alive the camaraderie forged in service; his final rest is in Holy Trinity Churchyard.
