Biography
Dwight Foster devoted his life to Massachusetts, building a reputation as a thoughtful lawyer and legislator before taking his seat first in the House and later in the Senate to help guide the commonwealth’s interests in the national capital.
He returned home to Springfield to preside over the Court of Common Pleas and to mentor younger lawyers until his death in 1823; he was laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery alongside fellow citizens he served so faithfully.
