Ebenezer Battelle

Biography

Ebenezer Battelle was born in 1754 and lived through the American Revolutionary War and the establishment of the new nation. His sixty-one years of life were spent in service to his community and family.

Battelle's grave at Newport Cemetery preserves his memory for future generations. He represents the steadfast individuals who provided continuity and stability during a period of dramatic social and political change.
