Biography
Eddie Lukon was a warm-spirited Midwesterner whose large frame and even larger heart carried him from small-town baseball diamonds to the major leagues. He broke into the big leagues with the Cincinnati Reds in the early 1940s, earning respect for his steady left-handed swing and resolute work ethic even as the world around him was changing swiftly.
After his playing days concluded, Eddie tuned that same steady resolve toward mentoring young athletes and nurturing the communities that had cheered him on. His quiet generosity and faith brought comfort to many, and he rests in peace at Our Lady Of Lourdes Roman Catholic Cemetery, leaving behind the legacy of a devoted teammate and friend.
