Biography
Edmund Costello (1873–1949) devoted his adult life to the steady defence of his country, serving through distant campaigns of the British Empire with calm purpose and an unfaltering regard for the men in his care.
In retirement he remained a mentor to younger veterans, lending counsel to local associations and resting now in St Mark's Churchyard where visitors still pause to honour the leadership and kindness he brought to every station.
