Biography

Edouard-Marcel Charrière, born in 1892, brought sensitivity to his art even as war interrupted the creative path he hoped to follow; his brushstrokes reflected both beauty and the turbulence of his time.

He died in 1918 and is interred at the Nécropole nationale d'Orfeuil, where visitors pause beside his grave in recognition of the artist who answered the call to serve.
