Biography
Edvarts Virza gave voice to the Latvian spirit through poetry and prose that celebrated the land and the people who tended it. His writing was rooted in a lyrical tenderness, yet it never shied away from the trials and triumphs that defined his homeland.
Throughout his life he encouraged others to read deeply and to cherish their cultural heritage, leaving behind a body of work that continues to move readers. He is honored at Forest Cemetery.
