Biography
Edward Carrington Cabell’s name is tied to the earliest days of Florida’s statehood, when he became the first individual to represent the new state in the United States House of Representatives. A sharp legal mind and persuasive speaker, he took on the difficult task of establishing Florida’s place within the Union and advocating for its newcomers.
After his congressional service, Cabell remained a respected lawyer and community leader, eventually planting roots near Bellefontaine Cemetery.
