Biography
Edward FitzGerald (1809–1883) gave English readers a lyrical taste of the East through his translation of the Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám and other contemplative verses.
He returned often to the Suffolk countryside of Boulge to renew his spirit, and the serenity of that place now shelters his memory.
