Biography

Edward Jürgens (1824–1863) was a Polish rebel whose commitment to his convictions defined his life during one of the most turbulent periods in Polish history. His resistance and activism reflected the broader struggles for Polish independence and self-determination that characterized the 19th century.

Jürgens's life ended in 1863, the same year as the January Uprising, a pivotal moment in Polish resistance. He was interred at the Evangelical Cemetery of the Augsburg Confession in Warsaw, his final resting place a testament to his dedication to his cause.
