Edward McGehee

Biography

Edward McGehee (1786-1880) witnessed the birth of a new country and then lived to see it transformed by industry and conflict, maintaining a consistent presence through it all. Living such a lengthy life provided him rare perspective on the hopes and hardships of an entire generation.

He now rests at Bowling Green Cemetery, where visitors may pause to remember the pioneer spirit that shaped his era.
