Biography
Edward Mott Moore was a leading physician and surgeon in Rochester whose careful attention to patients and to the training of younger doctors earned him a wide reputation for excellence. He championed the development of orthopedic practice and worked to enlarge hospitals and clinics so that more citizens could benefit from skilled care.
He also lent his voice to charitable, educational, and religious endeavors in the city, insisting that medicine should serve the whole community; he died in 1902 and was laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery.
