Biography
Edwin Thanhouser (1865–1956) built one of the earliest independent film studios, founding the Thanhouser Company in New Rochelle and helping establish cinema as a respected American art form.
His commitment to storytelling and to supporting actors, writers, and crews set standards that inspired future filmmakers, and his final resting place in Kensico Cemetery is visited by those grateful for his pioneering spirit.
