Effingham Wilson was a prominent publisher and bookseller whose career spanned the late eighteenth and mid-nineteenth centuries. Born in 1785, he established himself as an important figure in London's publishing trade, contributing to the dissemination of literature and knowledge during a transformative period in British intellectual life.

Wilson's work as a publisher and bookseller made him a notable member of the London literary community. He was interred at Highgate Cemetery, one of the era's most prestigious burial grounds, reflecting his standing in Victorian society at the time of his death in 1868.
