Biography
Einar Saraste devoted his life to medicine, studying in Helsinki and tending to patients across the growing capital region as Finland shaped its independence; his calm manner was a steady presence through the Finnish Civil War and the trials of the Second World War.
He remained a trusted counselor to generations, ensuring families were heard and comforted, and today he rests among his colleagues at Honkanummi cemetery.
