Biography

Eleanor Grove was an educational theorist and reformer who championed women’s access to higher learning, co-founding College Hall and advocating for rigorous academic standards for female students. Her work alongside Rosa Morison helped secure a space where women could pursue serious scholarship in an encouraging environment.

Her efforts remain celebrated as foundational to women’s education, and her grave in West Norwood Cemetery pays homage to a visionary who believed that knowledge should be inclusive and empowering.
