Elisabeth-Karin Peikel blended curiosity and compassion in her work as a botanist, researching Estonia’s plant communities while also nurturing the next generation of naturalists. Her writing and field studies helped preserve local habitats and inspired deeper appreciation for the natural world.

Those who knew her recall the gentle encouragement she offered to students and the quiet loyalty she showed to colleagues, with her memory now resting at Pärnamäe Cemetery.
