Biography

Elisabeth Svärdström was a distinguished Swedish runologist whose scholarly work advanced the understanding of ancient runic inscriptions and their historical significance. Her academic contributions spanned much of the 20th century, establishing her as an important figure in Nordic linguistic and historical studies.

Svärdström lived a long and productive life, passing away in 2007 at the age of 98. She was buried at Almunge Church, a fitting resting place for a scholar devoted to preserving Swedish cultural heritage.
