Elisha Bostwick was born in 1748, experiencing the colonial tensions that erupted into revolution and the challenges of forging a new nation. He and his peers in the Center area relied on their farms, trades, and churches to keep their communities resilient.

He died in 1834 and was laid to rest in Center Cemetery, where his grave stands among neighbors who shared the same seasons of change. Bostwick's life is remembered for its steady devotion to family and local ties.
