Biography

Eliza Roxcy Snow was a celebrated poet, hymnwriter, and religious leader whose words comforted many and whose example shaped the early Latter-day Saint community. She traveled widely as a missionary and served as a devoted counselor in the Relief Society, championing the spiritual and practical needs of women pioneers.

In her later years she remained a guiding voice for members of the church, encouraging charity and endurance even after hardships deepened across the nation. Her resting place at the Mormon Pioneer Memorial Monument honors a life devoted to art, faith, and the care of others.
