Elizabeth Cushier

Biography

Elizabeth Cushier pursued her medical calling at a time when female physicians were rare, dedicating herself to caring for women and children and advocating for better health education.

She balanced a rigorous practice with mentorship of younger women physicians, and she is remembered in Green-Wood Cemetery.
