Biography

Elizabeth Nevius Kershaw, born in 1863, became a gently guiding presence among the families of Harlingen Reformed Church, where she and her loved ones found spiritual home. She nurtured numerous generations through Sunday school lessons, volunteer hospitality, and a committed hand in parish life.

Her private life was regarded as a testament to quiet strength; friends recalled how she hosted gatherings, helped new mothers, and taught younger women the art of patience. When she passed in 1928, the congregation remembered a woman who had woven the bonds of faith and fellowship.
