Elizabeth Plankinton

Biography

Elizabeth Plankinton (1853–1923) was a devoted philanthropist whose generosity helped shape Milwaukee’s cultural and civic landscape. A patron of the arts and social causes, she used her resources to build institutions, support the less fortunate, and encourage the city’s development.

Her kindness extended to countless individuals, and she remained a visible champion for education, the arts, and social welfare throughout her life. She rests now at Forest Home Cemetery, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and public-mindedness.
