Emanuel Bachmayer
1842–1911 (age 69)
Biography
Emanuel Bachmayer built his merchant house on trust, developing relationships with farmers outside the city and bringing their goods to Viennese families. He respected each hand that produced flour, wine, or textiles, and he treated his employees with fairness that was not always common in commerce.
He gave back to Grinzing through donations to schools and guilds, and his calm demeanor remains a guiding story for merchants who pass through the cemetery there.
