Biography
Emil Stang Sr. trained as a jurist and emerged as a leading figure in Norway's public life, serving twice as Prime Minister while bringing a legal mind to the governance of a young constitutional monarchy.
His role in founding the Conservative Party and his patient leadership helped shape institutions, and his peers honored him for balancing principle with conciliation as he was laid to rest at Vår Frelsers gravlund.
