Emilie Landauer

Biography

Emilie Landauer (1817–1840) was a young woman whose brief life was lived during the early 19th century in Vienna. Though her years were few, she was part of the city's Jewish community and social fabric during this period of Austrian history.

Landauer's burial in the Jewish cemetery in Währing marks her place within Vienna's Jewish communal memory. Her life, though short, remains part of the historical record of the city and its diverse population.
