Biography

Emily Blackwell, 1826–1910, resided near the peaceful shores of Chilmark, where her gentle influence graced the lives of many. She offered encouragement to family and friends alike, serving as a calming presence in times of both joy and trial.

Though the particulars of her daily endeavors are now remembered only by a few, Emily’s compassion and steadfast faith ensured her lasting remembrance within the Chilmark community. Her spirit is enshrined amid the quiet paths of Chilmark Cemetery.
