Biography

Born in 1876, Emma Dukes came of age during a time of shifting borders and evolving communities. She was known among her peers for carrying warmth into daily interactions and supporting neighbors with quiet generosity, a presence that left an imprint on those who crossed her path.

In the turbulent years that followed, she found herself among the souls transported to Terezín, where she faced hardship with steady resolve; she passed away in 1945 and now rests in the National Cemetery, a reminder of the resilience she embodied.
