Emma of Waldeck and Pyrmont was a princess of European nobility, born in 1858 into one of the continent's distinguished royal families. Her life bridged the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, witnessing profound transformations in European society and politics during her 76 years.
As a member of the royal house, Emma maintained important family connections across European courts and played a role in the diplomatic and social life of her era. She was laid to rest in the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft, a fitting resting place for one of her station and significance.
