Biography

Enrique White (1741–1811) was a Spanish military officer and governor who oversaw West Florida and later East Florida during a time of international tension, striving to maintain order along the Gulf and Atlantic coasts while navigating shifting alliances. His administration promoted stability for Spanish settlers and indigenous communities alike, even as the United States pressed its claims to the region.

He was laid to rest in Tolomato Cemetery, where his grave marks the memory of a leader who balanced military duty with the responsibilities of colonial governance.
