Biography

Eugene Davenport was a pioneering agricultural scientist and educator who helped shape modern farming practices through his roles at Iowa State College and in national agricultural organizations.

He championed the land-grant mission of connecting research to rural communities, drew students to campus, and remained committed to the fertile soils of Madison, Wisconsin, where he is memorialized at Woodland Memorial Park.
