Biography
Eugène-Ferdinand Buttura (1812–1852) was a French painter whose artistic work contributed to nineteenth-century French visual culture. His paintings reflected the aesthetic sensibilities of his era and his engagement with contemporary artistic movements.
Buttura's artistic practice, though cut short by his death in 1852, represented the creative endeavors of his generation. He was interred in Montparnasse Cemetery, where he rested among other notable French artists and intellectuals.
