Eugene Marguerat

Biography

Eugene Marguerat, born in 1829, brought a curious mind and industrious spirit to Chicago, contributing to the cultural and commercial vitality of his adopted city. A life-long learner, he took delight in fostering international connections and promoting civic improvement.

He lent support to educational, artistic, and charitable endeavors, always encouraging mutual respect among his neighbors. When he passed in 1907, his wide circle of friends mourned the loss of a thoughtful leader, and he now rests among fellow citizens at Graceland Cemetery.
