Biography
Eugenie Bloch was born in 1856 and lived through the later decades of the Austro-Hungarian Empire as a member of the Brno Jewish community. She witnessed significant changes in Jewish life in Moravia and maintained her place in the community until her death in 1918.
Bloch's life extended through the tumultuous years of World War I, a period of considerable upheaval for all of Central Europe. She is remembered through her burial in the Jewish cemetery in Brno, where she rests among members of her community.
