Biography
Frederick Henry Townsend, born in 1868, used his gift for line and whimsy to become a trusted illustrator for the London magazines of his day, animating satire and social commentary with generous warmth.
He remained faithful to his craft until his death in 1920, and now rests at Highgate Cemetery among many of his contemporaries.
